    Overpriced Brands

          logo_lg                                        Hot Topic Logo

What is so good about Abercrombie and Fitch and Hot Topic? Other than the fact that everyone has them apparently. Why is it that few ever notice how overpriced these stores are? Ripped black jeans: $42. Average tank top: $20. Reasons for these outrageous prices? Logos. Names. Bags that you can carry around to tell the whole wide world that you shop there. What else can you possibly waste your money on?

Hot Topic and Abercrombie are only examples of this madness. These stores are worshipped as Gods. There are acceptable pricey brands: Michael Kors, BCBG, Ralph Polo Lauren. But this is where quality is an issue. The quality is, as a matter of fact, better. This is where being pricey would be acceptable. But brands like Abercrombie and Hot Topic? There's really nothing to them. Overpriced for the sake of logos and influence. Overly stereotypical and often times a negative influence on impeding generations. Yet many continue to be drawn into their stores as they throw down their money for more.

What is your honest opinion on popular chain stores such as Hot Topic, Forever 21, Abercrombie and Fitch, etc.?

    Cheating Honors Students

                                       dv697053

Are teachers ever aware of the fact that most of the cheating students are in honors? And if so, why is it that they still favor them above all the others?

There are students KNOWN for cheating. Yet the teachers love them so much that they get bonuses year round. Teachers find ways to average so that the particular student's grade will rise. They look upon them with pride. Those same students are always given the best recommedation letters. They get perks in class. They get away with being off task.

When it comes to tests, most would cheat; homework, most would copy. Rarely would they ever work up to earn the grade they deserve.

Perhaps we should remove all teachers subject to favortism. It is unfair to the other students. We are encouraging a society of cheating and dishonesty. It is corruption on a small scale in the one judicial place where it should be nonexistent.

How do you feel about the cheating students in honors? Disappointed, frustrated, apathetic, sympathetic?

    Sexism in Advertisement

One thing that will always get to me is the sexism in laundry, cleaning, and food commercials. Why is it that the woman is always the one in the kitchen or bathroom? She's always the one fretting over a stain or nutritious food that the kids will love too. Seriously, and they say we've broken away from traditional gender roles. Well why isn't it ever the guy who's in there, worried about an effective stain remover or easily prepared food?

It's always about housewives. Never househusbands... even in the twenty first century.
Do you believe that sexism exists in cleaning commmericals? Why or why not?
